Seedlac

The Sticklac is further processed into the semi-refined form of the Lac resin known as Seedlac by washing it thoroughly in a specially designed washing barrel using an alkaline solution to separate out the impurities and colouring material as present in the raw Sticklac. This gives Seedlac resin a granular form which is further dried and winnowed to remove fine dust particles before it is finally sieved as per the commercial sizes. Seedlac comes in various Commercial Grades depending on the host tree of the Sticklac.

The range of seedlac in India offered by us is well-known for its excellent quality. Our continuous drive to produce and export cost-effective, yet highest-quality products has helped us achieve the mantle of one of the most recognized seedlac suppliers in India.

Button Lac

The term “Button” describes the refined Lac resin in the form of small circular discs. The Button Lac is obtained by the process of manual hot-filtration by using the Seedlac of a suitable grade as the raw material. The Seedlac is packed into a long, narrow sausage-shaped canvas bag held in place by two workers in front of an open charcoal fire of a Dutch-type oven. The Seedlac inside melts while the bag is twisted in the opposite direction to force out the molten Lac through the walls of the bag. The molten Lac is then scrapped and spread out on flat metallic plates in the form of circular discs.

As one of the best button lac manufacturers in India, we take utmost care to ensure the finished product meets the necessary standards. Our button lac also goes through multiple inspections to ensure quality.

Hand-Made Shellac Flakes

The Hand-Made Shellac Flakes are obtained by the process of manual hot-filtration by using the Seedlac of a suitable grade as the raw material. The molten lac is spread out on a porcelain cylindrical jar containing boiling water by gradually stretching it into thin sheets which are then broken into small pieces to form Hand-Made shellac flakes which are aerated in a well-ventilated room before packing.

We are one of the largest Hand-Made Shellac Flakes suppliers in India. We deal in several different grades of shellac flakes, manufactured and processed through rigorous industry standards to ensure export quality.

Machine-Made Shellac Flakes

The machine-made Shellac is obtained by the process of hot-filtration, by using the Seedlac of a suitable grade as the raw material. The Seedlac is melted using steam heat inside a specially designed hydraulic press and then it is filtered to separate the impurities. The molten refined Lac is then stretched into long continuous sheets of suitable thickness using rollers and then broken into pieces to form Machine-Made shellac flakes which are aerated in a well-ventilated room before packing.

Our extensive line of suppliers brings us the highest quality raw materials, which are then purified & processed to make the final product. We are one of the largest Machine-Made Shellac Flakes suppliers in India. We deal in several different grades of shellac flakes, manufactured and processed through rigorous industry standards to ensure export quality.

Specialty Products

Aleuritic Acid

Aleuritic acid is a natural acid collected from shellac during the process of saponification. This light yellow and odourless solid is a by-product obtained while manufacturing shellac flakes. Aleuritic acid is a necessary component of the perfume and pharmaceutical industry. Aleuritic acid is an excellent raw material required to synthesize Civetone, Ambrettolide, Isoambrettolide, Exaltone, etc. which are common chemicals used by perfume manufacturers. It is used as a synthetic musk, replicating the chemicals collected from Civet cats and Musk Deer.

  • Used extensively in the pharmaceutical industry as Glucose Manoaleuritate, an isocaloric substitute for dietary tripalmitin
  • Used to prepare plastics that offer good adhesive properties
  • The esters of this product are mixed with other cellulose esters to make lacquers and fibers

Bleached Shellac

Bleached shellac is a processed resin that is bleached off its natural colour. It is done by treating shellac with sodium hypochlorite, sodium carbonate, and hydrochloric acid. The final product is screened several times to remove any remaining impurities and is produced in a powdery form. It is sought after for its unique hypoallergenic and non-toxic properties. It is also biologically degradable and can form a film over any surface to provide additional hardness, adhesion, and gloss.

  • Used in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Fruits are coated with bleached shellac to enhance their shelf-life and freshness.

Dewaxed Bleached Shellac

Dewaxed bleached shellac is an edible, colourless, and non-toxic natural resin, widely used in food, food packaging, and similar industries. It is manufactured using the solvent process, where the wax and remaining impurities are removed by diluting the lac in a suitable solvent. The mixture is then strained through multiple grades of fine filters before the alcohol is removed by applying heat turning it into molten shellac. It is then moulded & grinded as per the required thickness.

Dewaxed bleached lac also exhibits excellent adhesive properties, capable of creating a base for binding food-grade materials and extending its shelf life.

  • Used by the medicines and food industry as a coating material during non-refrigerated storage.
  • Used as a primer for plastic films and small components, as well as aluminium parts and films.
  • Used extensively in the confectionery and food industry as an external coating that provides additional hardness.
